Wedding planning is an exciting time with lots of decisions to be made. We have put together a list of 5 things to check with your wedding venue before booking.
1) Maximum and minimum guest numbers
Many venues have a maximum capacity – if you know you are going to have a large guest list, make sure your chosen wedding venue can accommodate everyone.
2) Catering options
Some venues have in-house catering and for others the choice will be entirely yours. Be sure to tell the caterers exactly what you are after – many will be happy to accommodate your tastes as long as you let them know.
3) How long will you have the venue for?
Many couples would prefer to set up their venues the day before the wedding to save stress on the day, but with some venues this isn’t an option. In addition, you might expect to be able to come back and clear up the venue the day after the wedding, but this doesn’t always come as standard.
Wedding costs can add up quickly and you want to make sure you know in advance how much you should be expecting to spend on your venue. Some things such as chair covers are not always included in the venue’s standard costs.
5) Bands and DJ
Depending on the size and location of your venue, they may have restrictions on time, noise levels and the number of pieces in a band. Be sure to ask if the venue can accommodate the type of music you want to have.
