Easy to find, with excellent commuter links to London and across the channel, Little Silver is a fantastic location from which to explore the surrounding area of the Weald and beyond. Whether you are staying as a guest or visiting for a special event in one of our stunning function spaces, you will receive the friendliest of welcomes and a level of service designed to make your stay the most memorable it can be.
Built in 1935 as a home, Little Silver became a hotel during the 1980’s. Named by its original owners after a family trip to a village of the same name in Devon, Little Silver has always maintained its reputation as a home away from home. The previous owners Oliver and Christine Johnston took over in 1998 and made many improvements to the hotel to enhance the service offered, whilst maintaining the sense of history and provision of home comforts. Extending the hotel considerably with a new extension in 2004-2005, a stunning new Bridal Suite was also created, securing Little Silver’s position as one of Kent’s top wedding venue destinations. Greatly loved by locals and returning customers, Little Silver prides itself on remembering its heritage and the story of its making. Oliver and Christine retired in October 2019 wanting to spend more time with their family. The hotel is now owned by husband and wife David and Elaine Kemp, who have previous experience working at the hotel and also have experience owning their own businesses in the hospitality industry. A book containing the full history of the hotel can be found in the lounge for guests to enjoy.
