Your guests are what make your wedding: all your closest friends and family are there to be with you and your partner on one of the most important days of your lives.
As much as you would love to invite everyone, your budget and your chosen venue’s capacity mean the list has to be cut somewhere. This can be one of the most difficult tasks in the run up to the wedding! Here are some of our top tips when it comes to deciding who you are going to invite.
It goes without saying that you want to choose the best venue for your wedding and, luckily for you, there are plenty of 5 star wedding venues right here in the UK.
Set in the heart of the countryside of the Lake District, Windermere Country House Hotel is a beautiful option if you are looking for a little luxury. Their wide range of fine food is enough to sweep you and your partner off your feet. They have their own recommended list of suppliers to make things easier for you and the location can provide the perfect backdrop for some stunning wedding photos.
When it comes to choosing your wedding venue there is an array of options and you and your partner can pick something that best suits the two of you.
Hotel wedding venues have always been very popular and it’s not surprising why: couples have the convenience of having everything they want and need in one location!
Many hotels now offer the option to couples of having their ceremony at the hotel, meaning you don’t have to worry about finding another venue such as a church. This also means you save money on transport between your ceremony and reception venue!
A wedding is a one-time event that everyone tries to make it unique and glitzy for their guests. Taking your wedding to the countryside is a thought that must have crossed your mind more than once. When done nicely, barn weddings give a rustic and an exceptional experience to you and your guests. You just have to consider the following tips:
Time your season
Don’t just set a barn wedding at any season you feel your budget is enough to set one. It is an outdoor event and you don’t want to be messed by the rains, cold or other harsh climates. However, the best season for you goes hand in hand with your preference for the wedding’s theme. If you want a deluxe environment, plan for your wedding during summer and spring. You can get the best crisp autumn tones during fall. Fall gives an awesome experience for those who want a green outdoor scene with pretty pumpkins and apples.
A wedding day for a couple and their family and friends is a very special time, I would imagine nearly every young girl dreams about her wedding day and has had it planned out years in advance as to how she would like her day to go.
Couples who are new to the hotel and are recent bookings may be slightly sceptical when we say that we enjoy every single wedding and that every single wedding is different, in fact a lot of you probably think that we add it in to our show around information to make you feel like you are not just another number but I can honestly say we never feel like a couple are. I often do say this to couples but we don’t look at you as £££ when you walk through the door, it is not in our interest to try and make the most money from you, if it was then we would have a minimum number of guests for everyday of the week.
Another year has drawn to a close and it’s at this time of year that we look back on what has been a wonderful 2014 for us, we have had fantastic functions along the way, new staff joining us as well as staff departing.
2014 has been a very busy year for weddings here at the hotel, we have been very fortunate to host 87 wonderful weddings this year and every single one is important to us and we feel very blessed that you picked us to host your magical day. I know you all probably think that we just say it because it sounds good but everyone does become a part of our Little Silver family, but what does that mean? To us it means that you are always welcome to come back to the hotel, always welcome to pop in for a cuppa tea, eat in the restaurant, stay etc. Just because your wedding day has finished and gone doesn’t mean that you are not still as important to us. A lot of the weddings that we have taking place in the future at the hotel are from couples who came to weddings at the hotel in 2012, 2013 and 2014, you may well know a future bride and groom that will be taking the same steps and walking down the aisle here in the future.
As most of you probably know the hotel never shuts, we are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year which means we are open and busy over the festive period.
I know a lot of you are probably thinking that working Christmas has got to be the worst time of year to work but in actual fact it is probably one of the best times to work. I have probably worked 10 Christmas day lunches in the last 13 years or so and have enjoyed every single one.
A lot of the guests that we have coming down to the hotel have been many times before and love the atmosphere that we have at the hotel over Christmas, they have all become friends with each other in those years that they have been coming and in turn become friends of the staff. We are aware that some of the guests choose to come to the hotel as they don’t have family to visit at Christmas so we make it our job to ensure that they have a magical time.
