about

The Little Silver Country Hotel was purchased at the end of 2019 by the new owners who had both previously worked at Little Silver about 25 years ago.

Little could they know the entire globe was about to be plunged into the Covid-19 pandemic. After their first few months at the helm the hotel was forced to close for an extended period due to the mandatory government lockdown for the hospitality industry.

Managing to survive through the lockdown with almost 2 years not trading was by far the biggest challenge this beautiful hotel, and the new owners have had to face.

Finally, the Little Silver Country Hotel was able to re-open in May 2021 under new management and with a fresh new outlook on driving this family run venue to new heights, offering a home from home ambience, utilising fresh local produce and outstanding service with a focus on weddings and events.

THE HISTORY OF LITTLE SILVER

Originally Little Silver was a beautifully put together country house, which was then converted into a hotel by its first owners, Dorothy and Rosemary in 1986. Dorothy and Rosemary slowly built on the reputation of the hotel, working hard to offer not only a truly beautiful venue but also superb hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The ladies were focused on maximising the hotel’s potential and were over the moon to report that over 80% of their guests returned to stay at the Little Silver Country Hotel regularly.

THE FUTURE AT LITTLE SILVER

The hopes and dreams of the Kemp’s for their family run hotel is to continue to make changes and improvements to the venue itself, both aesthetically and functionally whilst working to perfect the services and amenities they provide to their guests.

It is of huge importance that all guests staying at the Little Silver Country Hotel experience the intimate home-from-home, family feel which they have worked hard to ensure is perfectly incorporated into a luxurious and opulent setting.

WEDDINGS THAT WOW

Little Silver pride themselves on their ability to offer a wedding experience to suit all couples. The family strive to provide those all important personalised touches and that unique “wow-factor” that takes a wedding day or a weekend away, from wonderful, to phenomenal!

With plans to not only expand areas of the hotel by adding a customised getting ready suite for brides and wedding parties to enjoy, the family also have plans to utilise the stunning surroundings and gardens by creating more photography areas for weddings, updating all rooms and their amenities whilst maintaining the “country” feel that their guests love so much. One of the biggest changes made so far is a complete renovation to the flooring of Kent Hall, transforming this absolutely breathtaking space into the perfect neutral setting to compliment any wedding colour theme.

SUPPORTING LOCAL

Supporting local for the needs of the hotel and its guests is of paramount importance to Little Silver. Having lived locally for most of their lives, the family enjoys close personal and working relationships with many of the local business. Employing staff largely from the local area has helped to keep that home-from-home feeling and you can always count on the quality of the local and fresh produce used at Little Silver.

Supporting local food and drink produce from Chapel Down winery, Biddenden vineyard, PK Produce, Tenterden’s Farm butchers, John Howe turkeys, The Old Brewery, Linton seafood and the local market.
